Our gym floor installation process begins with your existing concrete slab. Our team walks the slab, checking for levelness (the slab must be within 1/8 inch every 10 square feet).
Gym_02
Next, the entire slab is covered with 6 mil plastic sheeting.
Gym_03
Once the 6 mil plastic has been laid, the subfloor system can be installed. The subfloor system will provide the shock absorption and ball rebound necessary for a competitive playing surface.
Gym_04
Here, a layer of half-inch plywood, with pads affixed, is laid. This layer is then covered with a second layer of half-inch plywood, laid at a 45-degree angle to the first layer.
Gym_05
Once the subfloor system is in place, the solid maple floor is laid out and nailed into place.
Gym_06
When the maple installation is complete, the entire floor is sanded and then two coats of sealer applied to provide protection and shine.
Gym_07
The basketball floor is then striped and school logos applied.
